"Assault on Hoover Dam" - Transformers: Animated style
OH MY GOD A BACKGROUND!!!  This was done for the art jam  is hosting. The idea was to take a scene from either the Movie universe or the original Generation One universe versions of Transformers, but do it as if the characters were the Transformers: Animated incarnation. LOTS of people got in on this one, and this is my submission.Please check out his journal with links to ALL the entries: [link] If you haven't seen the 2007 live-action movie, this is the scene this is a riff on: [link] This is my first major attempt at how I want to approach backgrounds, I'm pleased with how it turned out and there will be lots to tweak and play around with in the future, now that I'm this far with it. I basically wanted no lines, just colour and shades. I used simple gradients and blurs and it kinda gives an "animations background" sorta look, which is what I wanted (you know how animation backgrounds tend to look kinda painted or whatnot?) and I think there's enough "there" to do more backgrounds like this. I wanted simple, but not as simple as the characters, if that makes any sense, lol They can only get better from here  |

Excellent work on this; I really like your take on that scene; Starscream's lookin' good, and nicely arrogant. XD Your background technique works very well with your TFA 'Screamer; you put a lot of effort into making the two mesh, and it shows. :3
